What is a Vampire?
A vampire is a creature that resembles a human in appearance but is far more different. Vampires are classified as “non-wizards part-humans” which means that although they aren’t wizards, they still have some part of humanity in them. Vampires are defined by the Ministry of Magic as beings meaning that they have enough intelligence to understand the laws of the ministry and to follow those laws. They have rights as well, so they aren’t considered threats to the wizarding community.
Vampires are beings which feed on blood. They also feed on humans by biting their necks with sharp fangs and draining their blood, usually leaving the human dead or sometimes unconscious for some time. They are described as pale and gaunt, their paleness probably hinting that they have no blood in them anymore. They can be repelled using garlic which helps keep vampires away from a certain place or area. As the number of garlic increases, so does the effectiveness and the area it affects.
Habitat
Most vampires live separately from humans, probably in order to avoid accidentally feeding on them. They tend to remain hidden from humans such as vampire hunters, whose goal is to kill these vampires. However, there can be some vampires who purposely position themselves near humans to use them as sources of blood. In terms of geographical areas, they can be found in Central Europe, specifically along Romania and Transylvania.
Being Status
Vampires have been chosen to be in the being status because they have intelligence to understand the laws of the Ministry of Magic. In the Ministry of Magic, beings are defined as 'any creature that has sufficient intelligence to understand the laws of the magical community and to bear part of the responsibility in shaping those laws'. Vampires have human-like intelligence, sometimes even more cunning than humans, so they can follow the laws without difficulty.

Vanishing Cabinet:
The Vanishing cabinet, which usually comes in pairs, is a magical artifact used by a magical person to appear and reappear from one place to another.
In Who's Who in Magic History, the Vanishing Cabinet was used as a magical trick by a magician named, Don Juan Cardoza. He used it in his shows and would hold a thousand-dollar challenge for those who can figure out how he manages to disappear and reappear. It was also used during the First Wizarding War as an escape pod from the Death Eaters. When the Death Eaters break in to their houses, they would go in the cabinet to hide for some time on the other cabinet and would reappear once the Death Eaters are gone. In Hogwarts, it was used by Fred and George and Draco Malfoy. Fred and George used the Vanishing Cabinet when they shoved Montague into one to avoid being docked points. Draco Malfoy, on the other hand, used the Vanishing Cabinet in his pursuit to help the Death Eaters penetrate the walls of Hogwarts back in 1997 and ambushed Professor Dumbledore.
In order to activate the Vanishing Cabinet, the user must utter these words – Harmonia Nectere Passus.
